I badly wanna go to the show.

But I quite likely won't make it because once again, entertainment is for the rich.

Hey, if you come one evening with me and my sister, entry is 'only' $11 and you can still go on most of the rides!

I'm doing the evening thing becase my sister wants to go on rides her friends are too chicken to try.

Shit yeah.

You should try taking a family. We've got two boys and there is absolutely no way we can go. Just to get us all in the door costs about $50.

We are hoping to get some friends to buy two showbags for the kids for us so at least they have something.

Yep, same goes.

Oh well, I'd just spend a fuckload of money I don't have on showbags full of chocolate and then pig-out until I wanna throw up, anyway. I'm fat enough, so maybe being penniless is a good thing in this case?

it'd be alittle closer to being afordable if the bank gives me back the $20 it didnt give me from the atm the other day. and if my centerlink pension is covered as one of their centerlink pensions that get 'cheap' entry. its still $9.50 just to get in then.

To add: I don't intend spening more than $20 at the show, which I think is do-able - post-6pm entry plus two rides. There's plenty of free stuff to keep you going too ^_^ Just gotta know where to look ^_^

It's something to consider.

The main reason I wanna go is for the rides which cost $5 (possibly $6 this year - bloody price hikes) a pop.

I don't think I'll get there if I have to pay entry at all.

Having to pay the ludicrous entry fees makes the whole thing not worth it. :(

Oh, by the way...

*squish* :)

Plan A: Hijack the slingshot ride at cable ski water park (noone will be there considering it's still winter and everyone will be using the one at the show), modify it, aim it towards the showgrounds, and... well, you can see where I'm going with this. Haven't figured out how to land yet though.

Plan B: Grab some animal costumes and pretend to be hired entertainment.

Both ideas have merit, I think...

Go to one of the country shows, they are much cheaper and have cooler animals ;) Go the wood chop!

Become a clown! It's not hard, I mean, you could take some good advice off Rat! :P
You just need floppy shoes, baggy pants, a bulbous nose, a happy smile and be crying on the inside.
Pulling up to the gate in a car the size of a golf cart wouldn't hurt either. Make sure at least five other fellow clowns get out at the same time, or they'll get suspicious.
Don't worry if nobody laughs at you. The whole point of clowns is to make people feel better cos at least they can see that someobody is dressed worse than they are and acting more of a prat.
Go to it! Attack of the Clowns!

not last time I tried.

Apparently we don't deserve a discount because we're not unemployed, over 65, or under 18. Nevermind doing a uni degree is NOT SITTING ON YOUR ASS BLUDGING, YOU TIGHTASS TAXPAYING DICKWADS WHO ARE GONNA STARVE IN THEIR OLD AGE BECAUSE I WILL VOTE TO GIVE YOU AS MUCH SUPPORT WHEN YOU NEED IT AS YOU ARE GIVING ME NOW!

Phew, where did that come from? (gee, I wonder.)

Anyway, it has belatedly occurred to me that you can get in free--all you have to do is donate a couple of hours of your time to the red cross down there; they get you in free, and then you can wander and do what you want after you've helped them out for a while.

I'm not just a student, I know that doesn't work.
I'm talking about my pension (Disability Support Pension, supplied by Centerlink) and wondering if it now counts as a "Centerlink Pension". I know they didn't like it a few years ago when I tried to use it.

Hrm, doing a couple of hours charity work would be a good thing. maybe next year we should work on this beforehand and actually organise ourselves to do this.
a problem occurs when you want to go with other people that don't get to volunteer on the same day though
