i have dreams like that, except it's a mini volcano that erupts in the basement and punches a hole up through the roof of the house by erupting. then, at some point the mini volcano goes away and just leaves a small hole to the center of the earth and people fall into it. Scary stuff.
I blame Pompeii (seriously, my 3-2-1 Contact magazine had an article about Pompeii, and that's what started that particular dream).
