No. In an ideal world all teenagers would have a relationship with their parents that allowed them to be open about it. Unfortunately that world doesn't exist.
What they DO need is a doctor good enough to explain the ins and outs of birth control and be willing to try other methods if the hormonal birth control is having bad side effects.
Anything that prevents more unwanted children being brought into the world is an AWESOME thing.
