So much for having it ready for winter

gemfyreMy project was to make a Harley Quinn styled hoodie. I bought a pattern and I bought fabric.
That was about 2 months ago, since then I've made no progress on the hoodie. I'm scared to cut anything. I read the instructions on the pattern but it's all written in a different language. :(
Do I need something I can mark the fabric with? Baking paper isn't wide enough to trace the pattern onto, and like I'll ever use it again anyway. I may as well just cut the pattern itself. But I'm never sure which line to cut around, there are so many!
Ergh, so confuzzling. I've never been much of a crafty type.
