So I puttered out to Wireless Hill this morning to see if I could find the Black Honeyeater(s) that have been spotted there (first time ever seen in Perth, this is a desert species).

Luckily I immediately ran into the guy who first spotted them (and just lives down the road from the park, and thus has seen them a few times since). He took me around to the all the spots where they've been seen but we didn't see them. One honeyeater was possibly a female, but we didn't see it well enough to give a positive ID.

Did see a Tawny-crowned Honeyeater, which is a bit unusual. And the Rainbow Bee-eaters were thick in the air. Then went down to Alfred Cove and picked up a few waders - wasn't so good there because it was high tide.
