THE JOURNAL:

First things first, how long have you kept a Livejournal, and why did you begin it? - Wow, I just did the maths. I've had an LJ for a bit over 6 years now. I had made one or two posts to Blogger and then noticed [livejournal.com profile] firvulag reading [livejournal.com profile] riverstar's journal and thought I might like one. Back then you needed a code to join and [livejournal.com profile] odindeathcrush was kind enough to give me one.

Have you stuck to one journal or had many? How many journals do you currently use? - I've only ever had one journal for myself, and it's always been [livejournal.com profile] gemfyre. I did start [livejournal.com profile] phantomterror as a journal for my cat Phantom, but that was quickly neglected - the whole switching logins was a pain. I've also started many communities, but the only one that really has any activity is [livejournal.com profile] anti_smoking. The rest are listed on my info page.

The reason behind your Username(s): Do I have to tell this story AGAIN? It's a Mary Sue character from some American Gothic fanfic that I wrote when I was 16.

How often are you on LJ, and how long do you spend on the site when you log in? All day every day. Sadly that is the truth most of the time.

What does your activity on LJ most consist of? Reading other people's journals and communities and commenting. Posting to communities and posting to my LJ.

What are some of your favorite aspects of Livejournal? The ease of posting and adding pictures and stuff. I love that I've uploaded over 1000 photos to my scrapbook and used up 0.02% of the space. Communities and friending.

Some of your least favorite aspects? LJ managements persistent PR fuckups. But these days they're just getting amusing.

Have you ever had an LJ "secret"? Is that like a post secret? Or do you mean a private entry? I have maybe 3 private entries among my thousands of posts. Online I'm an exhibitionist, which is completely different to how I am in real life.

THE FRIENDS LIST:

Have you met a fellow LJer? Who, where, and why did you meet?
Right, if I tell the story of how, where, why I met all these people we'd be here forever. I'll list all the people on my f-list that I have met and you'll understand. Okay, the majority of these guys are part of the scary congomerate of university sci-fi clubs and their attaching groups. Some I have only met briefly, some are good friends and some are mere aquaintances.

Which five LJers would you most like to meet (those you have not had the pleasure of meeting)?:

[livejournal.com profile] natsuchan, [livejournal.com profile] moonvoice, [livejournal.com profile] aequanoctis, [livejournal.com profile] urbpan and [livejournal.com profile] agent0fchaos and/or[livejournal.com profile] clownyprincess. I think I'd get along with all these peeps.

Describe your favorite type of posts to read: Geeky, educational, well written posts. Funny posts.

The posts that you generally skip or skim: Anything badly written won't keep my attention.

Which 5 journals do you enjoy reading most? Can I include communities here? Right now [livejournal.com profile] agent0fchaos, [livejournal.com profile] wtf_nature, [livejournal.com profile] urbpan, [livejournal.com profile] moonvoice and [livejournal.com profile] dormant_dragon

This is the part of the survey where we get to be HONEST.

Are there certain friends that you never or very rarely read? I read my f-list all together (apart from 2 filters which I'll read if I'm in a hurry). If a post doesn't get my interest I'll scroll past it. If a person doesn't post much then I can't help but read their journals rarely can I?

Anyone on your friends' list whose posts annoy you, or you otherwise just don't gel with? Haha, sure. Can't think of any specific person. It's more type of posts rather than posts from a certain person.

Anyone who is so fabulous you worship them from afar? At the moment [livejournal.com profile] agent0fchaos because she's writing an awesome piece of fic. But she's letting me beta-read it! Yay.

Is your very best friend on LJ? A lot of my closer friends have LJs. As does my other half [livejournal.com profile] firvulag.

Have you ever kept a real-life secret from your LJ friends (such as a relationship, a child, a job, etc)? Yes.

THE COMMENTING:

How important is it to you to receive comments on your posts? How important do you think it should be for yourself and others?

Comments are great if they have content. I love comments. I'm an attention whore. I also try to leave stimulating comments.

What is your personal guideline for removing people who never (or rarely) comment on your journal? How much time should pass with one-sided or non-existent interaction?

I'll generally unfriend people who have deleted their LJs, or who's posts bug me. As you can see, I keep A LOT of people.

THE END:

In general, what is the impression you hope others receive of yourself through your journal?

That I'm a clever chick. I like to educate people about nature, I really have to work on making posts like that.

What is your overall attitude toward your own journal?

See icon. :p

In a nutshell, why do you keep an LJ? How has it enriched your life?

It's something to alieviate boredom, it's a great way to network. And communities are great for random questions or interests.
