Hype at the Truffle Festival
Aug. 5th, 2007 10:19 pmWe tried truffles today. Well, a custardy thing with truffle in it - you could taste it.
I have no idea why people rave about it, it was nothing special at all. Not unpleasant, but certainly not sex on the tastebuds either.
I DID finally get some tapenade however and the oyster mushrooms were divine, pity I didn't get in quick enough to buy a farm for them.
And the Roquefort! A few years ago I couldn't stand blue cheeses, then I started getting a taste for them. And this Roquefort was so smooth and not sharp at all. Very yummy. The other cheeses at the stand were also divine.
