Wow, that was a productive day off.
6am - wake up, go into markets with Stu.
Get crepe for breakfast.
Wander around markets, buy a bit more soap. I now have the whole set I think. That will last me ages, and I can get a mail order catalogue when it runs out.
Go to Sewer Works to birdwatch.
Go to shops via Kavite Rd to try and find more interesting birds.
Do shopping, decide Broome is WAY too busy this time of year.
Pick Stu up. I drive. :)
Put shopping away. Decide I'll have leftover subji for lunch.
Come to check e-mail, Chris is trying to send large e-mail.
Decide to go down to the bay while I'm waiting.
Go to the bay, notice the tide is on the way out and loads of birds are at One Tree/Crab Creek.
Grab a scope and the troopy keys and scarper off to One Tree. Armed with just my bins and a scope.
Once I get to One Tree I decide to wander by the mangroves and see what I see.
Discover that the fine sand/mud is LOVELY to walk on barefoot. Don't go out too far tho because I only have barefeet and longish pants on.
Get all the regular mangrove birds except for the whistlers, as well as loads of waders. Watch mudskipper drama on the mudflats.
Decide to drive home along the road by the saltmarsh/plains. Seriously consider going to Tagarana Bore, but seeing as I still haven't had lunch, have no water and am only wearing thongs I decide not to.
Get back, check e-mail, have subji for lunch. Ricki comes into the shadehouse and says, "Oh you're not... You ARE!" Ricki is a vegan and generally eats a raw food diet. She's an awesome Indian cook but she reckons spicy stuff twice in a row is too much. I'd had leftover subji about 3 times in the last 2 days.
Make a batch of brownies - these ones turned out just the perfect mix of fudgy and cakey.
Make dinner - chicken with couscous topping and accompanying salsa.
Eat dinner - it's a hit. Too much onion though.
Eat a brownie.
Come to office and do LJ/e-mail/mIRC stuff.
Then I intend to go to bed.
