SPRING IS HERE!!! *skips around*

Today was pretty nice.

I went down to the creek in the morning because I was hearing pardalotes and whistlers. I managed to actually spot a few of the pardalotes (striated) and I think I also found the gerygone that was singing away. I think I may have heard thornbills as well.

And the whistler. I heard him whistling away so I started to whistle back (which set off all the neighbourhood dogs). After a while he flew out of the leaves to land on a dead branch and call loudly. A beautiful male rufous whistler. I KNEW I wasn't hearing things! :) Then I got an SMS from Matt saying he had arrived to I went home.

We went down to the shops, I bought a present for Dad for Father's Day and learned that half the shops at Midland Gate are currently closed and the post office has moved - had to pay my rego (ouch). The toaster from Target that we wanted to get wasn't available either. Poopy.

In the afternoon we watched Monsters Inc. Right near the end the DVD crapped up, but we knew how it ended anyway. Then we hopped in the spa.

Mum took the lime and bitters with her!! How rude. So I ate strawberries and kiwifruit instead.

Skinny dipping is fun. *grinz*

The weather was just divine. It's so great to not be cold once more. The doors are open and the spring air is coming in and it's just lovely. Reminds me of things long ago.

I now have to put together a report that's due on Friday. All I have to do is put it together and edit/proof read it. The rest of my group volunteered to actually write it, so I'm not complaining.

Not sure what I'll have for dinner, I'm sure I'll track down something.

Tomorrow is the field trip to Alcoa, apparently it's about a 1.5 hour bus ride to get there and we won't be back at campus till 6:30. Hopefully I will be able to sneak in some birding though. ;)
