Yeah, karaoke tonight = no.

First we figured we'd go early and get dinner at Seizan too. Japanese food is good, and we had a 25% off voucher.

So, after struggling to find a park in Perth - and find a street that headed the way we actually wanted to go, we ended up parking by the Esplanade. At least walking is getting easier for me so it wasn't too much of a struggle. I hate going into the city and/or Northbridge at night because parking is sparse and expensive, and many carparks close at 10pm, not useful.

We find the place and see a sign saying it's booked out. Hrm, okay. I guess we won't have dinner there then.

We decided to have dinner at a little Indonesian place next door. I ordered a rendang curry and requested it be mild. It arrived and was filled with suspicious looking red flecks. Yep, they were chilli. Shit, if that was mild I'd hate to taste the hot! Even Matt struggled with it. We ended up swapping dishes and I managed with his pepper prawns, which were still hot, but tolerable. By this time my mouth was burned anyway so I couldn't taste much anyway or tell if his dish was hot or not. Not awfully impressed.

We called organiser of the event and discovered the booking wasn't for us. Us telling her the place was booked for the night was the first she'd heard of it. Plans were changed to go to Ferraras instead on the other side of town. How the message was going to get to everyone attending we did not know.

Just after we finished dinner [livejournal.com profile] drhoz and [livejournal.com profile] purrdence turned up and we let them know what was happening. We called organiser again and discovered that apparently Ferraras is members only and the venue had been changed to somewhere in Northbridge. Screw that, I'm still on one crutch, I didn't want to deal with Northbridge crowds.

So we came home again. One of the cats had puked in the hallway (thankfully on the tiles) and a bit in the dining room (on carpet, gah). No worries, I'm quite used to cleaning up cat puke.

We're now chilling in the lounge room and Matt is watching the footy.

I think I'll stick with pub karaoke, it's much simpler. Yay for Norbert getting a gig at the Floreat!! *looks forward to May 8th*
