gemfyreIt's so bizarre to hear a huge crack of thunder and look out the window to see only a few fluffy clouds and blue sky. Of course on the other side of the building the sky is dark and a huge thunderstorm is overhead.
I just saw the most bizarre phenomena driving home from Tattler Rocks. A bolt of lightning, originating from an oncoming thunderhead, but arising from such a spot that most of the bolt passed over clear blue sky to the ground.
I've had to deal with nasty heat and humidity, but this is why I wanted to see this place during the wet. Even though we've had way too little rain the thunderstorms are still an almost daily occurance and never cease to be awesome.
I saw NINE dowitchers at Quarry Beach today, fuckin' awesome. Also saw a bunch of broad-billed sandpipers. Dipped out on the redshank that Ricki has seen the past two days.
