Why oh why do the neighbours feel the need to have a loud party every fucking Friday night and be loud right past midnight. I thought legally loud noise after 10pm can be classified as nuisance and/or noise pollution. I just wish they'd be halfway considerate of the people living around them.

Aaaaanyway! Karaoke was dead but jumping tonight. Few people, but lots of energy. I got to sing 5 songs, all newies.

1. What's Love Got To Do With It - Tina Turner
The verses were good but the high notes and especially the transitions to and from said high notes were awful.

2. Blaze Of Glory - Jon Bon Jovi
Sang this with Sarah. It was a Bon Jovi song, we knew it off by heart, of course we rocked. :)

3. Careless Whisper - WHAM!
This was good. It's so one of those songs I grew up on. My sister had Make It Big by WHAM! and played it often.

4. Don't Know Why - Norah Jones
I was afraid this would be an utter disaster but it was surprisingly okay.

5. All Out Of Love - Air Supply
Good except the karaoke version was really fast and ended differently to what I'm used to. Here am I waiting for the big end notes and all I get is a fade out.

And I am so utterly chronic with this birding thing. The clip for Eagle Rock was shot in Kakadu, the jacanas gave it away. I busily ID'ed every single bird in that clip. Osprey (I think this was meant to be the "eagle" for Eagle Rock, an Ospreys closest relationship to an eagle is the fact that it's a raptor, not much else), Magpie Goose, Jacana, Radjah Shelduck, Straw-Necked Ibis, Great Egret, Spoonbill (couldn't tell if it was Royal or Yellow-Billed but I'm assuming Royal). I am too geek. And of course it made me all excited about going up north again, I'll get to see most of those birds.

Now, off to have a shower and destinkify. Another night particularly bad for involuntary smoke inhalation.
