grotty, hot, tired and headachey

gemfyreI was pretty much the only person in the cattery this morning. I did have someone else in there doing kittens for a while but most of the time I was on my own and had to do ALL the adult cats. *collapses from exhaustion*
It included dealing with two cats who decided some bedding made a better toilet than a litter tray. Even with gloves on it's still awfully unpleasant picking the shit up. Another cat managed to get the tray at least, but there was one sticky pile of poop that needed hand removal and bloody gallons of urine. I let one of the vets know so they could check it out.
Billy was absolutely gorgeous as always. He has such piercing pale green eyes and he just stares at me when I do the cats beside him in that "C'mon, when am I gonna get some attention?" look. He's just too beautiful. And Zoleka did get a clip. She looks bizarre now but she seems to be a lot less timid now, the mats in her fur were probably bugging her a lot and now they're gone. :)
Then headed to uni. Took a wander to the Murdoch swamp first off to look for birds. I heard a bunch but only saw one New Holland Honeyeater - big woop. The swamp was teeming with different coloured dragonflies (many mating), 2 menacing looking hornets, a grass skink and I'm sure there were at least 10 oblong tortoises down there. They were sunning on branches - some you wouldn't think a tortoise would be agile enough to clamber onto. When they heard me they dropped into the water with a *plonk*.
Then I did my plates. I picked out maybe 5 decent plates out of the 16 I poured. Stupid agar. And apparently my suspension which was meant to be mixed at room temperature for an hour was left all weekend. This wouldn't have been a problem except somehow the bath got turned on and rose to 60 degrees! I'll see what I get but I figure most of whatever was in will be dead now, grr.
Now I am home and exhausted and will be heading to my parents for dinner soon. But now, a shower.

No shit. Sometimes I like to be around people, but a lot of the time they just piss me off and I'd like to be wondering somewhere alone and one with nature.
