My first essay is good as done. Thank GOD for that.

Now I hafta work my butt off over the weekend to get the law one done.

Not to mention the genetics questions I have to do as well in this time *frets*.

A truck tried to change lanes INTO me today. Lucky my horn worked.

I think the cat has taken up a permanent position on my bed.

Mum sliced her hand open preparing dinner. Now she is in the black hole that is an emergency waiting room. Who knows when they'll be back? I should hunt down my own dinner in the meantime.

Have a shower, find stuff to wear tomorrow. Tomorrow afternoon/evening is reserved for no assignment. I'm just gonna let my brain go to mush and hopefully Saturday arvo start work with a vengeance.

It's gone cold again. I. Don't. Like. That.

Disclaimer - I wrote this when I was 16, so I use that as an excuse for any cringeworthiness.

Holly had nightmares whenever she wasn't safe in Chris' arms. He was just outside, not far at all. All she had to do was call and he'd be there. But tonight she was almost too scared to scream. She heard the whispers. Daemonic whispers that could drive a mortal man insane. Connie was near, the whispers were in his power. Too near.
"Holly." She had been holding a breath to listen, now she let it out in relief. Chris must have come in silently, thinking she was asleep. She turned to look up at him. Connie grabbed her and dragged her into the circular courtyard. As she'd suspected he shoved a ragged wooden stake through her chest. It hurt like hell but was hardly fatal. Both of them knew that. But both also knew that she could barely take a step without collapsing to the ground in agony. She began to scream for Chris.
"I've already dealt with him honey. You're on your own." Oh God, what's he done? Her mind screamed. "Over there. I decided I'd let him watch his little Holly. So that's Chris. I warned you to stay but you wouldn't listen. Never do, do you. Little Holly's always on her own. No more than now." The cage over the cellar door held Chris. He didn't look very panicked yet. She could tell he was patiently trying to think of a way to pick the lock. Or looking for a flaw in the bars. Connie dragged Holly over there. "This is your treasure? She ain't yours, she's mine. She'll always belong to me, even if you created her." Chris looked calmly at Connie and stayed silent. Connie dragged Holly to the other side of the enclosed yard.
"What are doing Connie? Why can't you just let me be?"
"'Cause I don't want to. You're mine, you told me yourself. We were gonna have everything Holly. Then you had to run back to your darling Chris. I promised you mortality again. And you left!"
"I'm not as weak as I used to be." She knew that was a lie. She had grown more dependant on Chris and, partly, Zach each day on the run from The Wolf.
"We'll see then, won't we?" He put his hands on her shoulders. She immediately fell to her knees. Gagging and gasping. This was Connie's deadly power. Mortality. He was able to make someone live forever, or have them die at his feet. Chris suddenly stopped trying to be composed. He shook the bars so violently it looked as if he'd topple the whole cage, it didn't budge. Even the strongest kid wouldn't have been able to get down into that cellar, which was the whole reason for the cage. Why couldn't it be unreliable, like most things were in modern times? He began to yell, then realised with dismay that there were tears in his eyes. Connie noticed. "Think you're so powerful? No-one controls The Wolf."
"Not you. Her." Connie looked back at Holly. Where the stake was was growing an increasingly large spot of blood.
"Your precious. I could leave her there. She'd die within a few minutes. Then I'd just do the same to you. But I want her to stay with me, so I can't let her die. Can I?" He dashed back to her and lifted her up. She stopped dying and stood on her own. She tried to take a swipe at Connie but he grabbed her arms. "Want me to do that again do you? That's no real problem." She struggled, but the experience had weakened her. She fell forward onto him. He held her up. "C'mon Holly." He began to walk away, holding her hand.
"Let him go. I won't ever try to leave again if you just let him go."
"You reckon I'm stupid or something? It's getting light. We better get going before it gets us. And if you don't come with me I'll kill you. Don't know what's gonna happen to poor Chris." He said with mock sadness. They were headed towards the door out of the place when a huge figure leapt out at them and knocked Connie to the ground. Zach. He pinned The Wolf to the ground. Vampires cannot change into wild animals. But if any could, it would be Zach. He looked like a wild dog. Connie no longer seemed a wolf, he seemed to be a mouse. Zach snarled at him.
"You are stupid. Didn't account for me did you?" For once Connie felt uncomfortable, he no longer had the upper hand. He was always proud of being in control of a situation. He tried not to let his concern show. "Oh well, we all make mistakes. Where're the keys to the cage?" Connie didn't answer. Just grinned maniacally at Zach. He began to lift up his arms and clutch for Zach's head. Maybe he still had it under control.
"Zach! Don't let him get a hold of you!" Holly shouted in warning. Zach rapidly grabbed Connie's arms and pinned them down. He lifted The Wolf up and dragged him over to the cage. He'd never really investigated it before today. he decided he would check out a lot of the house before the day was done, he was only familiar with about five of it's many rooms. He noticed Connie staring at a cairn of rocks nearby and looked at it. The key hiding under it glinted in the moonlight. Zach grabbed it and unlocked the latch. Chris opened the door and ran over to Holly. After making sure she wasn't still mortal he walked back to Zach and Connie. He leaned close to Connie's face and taunted.
"Yes, I am the powerful one. Don't think you'll win against me when the prize is Holly." He threw The Wolf into the cage and closed the latch. "Oh dear, it's going to be light soon. I wonder what will happen." The three left him there screaming. Holly looked back once, but never again. As she was getting to sleep she heard a piercing wail and the part of her that sensed Connie Page, The Wolf, disappeared.
