There's a reason I'm not big on hot drinks.

I think I just cauterized all the tastebuds off the tip of my tongue.

I don't understand the appeal of singeing hot beverages, you can't drink them comfortably till they're lukewarm anyway.

I feel that way too. So when i make coffee or something, i turn the kettle off half way through it boiling and that way it's a drinkable temperature :D

I usually have a teeny bit of water and loads of milk.

But this is some frothy chocolate thing mum made and the milk was heated too. WAY too hot. I'll make sure the milk is just tepid next time.

yeh, I go for milky rather than less-hot water too. If the water's not hot enough, the coffee (or tea in my case, usually) isn't strong enough.

although, strangely, I'm starting to prefer my tea fairly hot. I used to drink it stone cold.

As a kid, I got into trouble for trying to make some hot milk for a Milo.

I used the electric kettle.

The smell was attrocious
