Yeah I know there's no final result yet.

But we know that it will be either Labor or Liberal.

Again.

Don't blame me, I didn't vote for either.

You can't really be disappointed at that, they are the only two parties with any practical experience running the country. In a job interview would you give it to the applicants with experience or without?

Depends on their vision; really.

If we excluded everyone that didn't have experience, all the time, no one would get jobs. Australia is generally about giving people a fair go, which includes giving new parties a chance to learn from their mistakes. After all, it's not like Labor and Libs are without theirs, for all their 'experience.'

That's a perpetuating cycle isn't it? They don't have experience, so we won't vote for them, so they'll never GET any experience and we always end up with same old same old.

I'm willing to shake things up a bit, even if it is a little distasterous initially.

They are getting experience, though. They can't make policy yet, but they can veto it which is almost as good.

I thought it was an awesome result, considering.

11.6% of the primary vote! First ever lower house seat! Balance of power in the senate!

Baby steps, hehe. People are slowly seeing the light. We must be patient and continue shining it at them until they catch on. :)

My main worry is that those 3 country independents will favor the coalition... Tony Abbot = Do Not Want!

n no no!

it won't be labor or liberal like it ever has been before! it will be a minority government! politics will have to be done differently, and the greens have the balance of power in the senate, so nothing abhorrent will be rushed through like in the howard years. I, unlike others, think this is a very good outcome. You should listen to some of the stuff rob oakshott is saying.
