gemfyre: (Stinking (cigarette) butt)

Heard on the news on my lunch break.

Cigarette filters may contain... pigs blood. Some religious groups may be outraged.

Never mind the toxic chemicals you're pouring into your body and those of the people around you while you puff on your fag. Pig's blood is apparently much more of a concern.

The mind boggles.

But the several thousand year old books don't mention toxic chemicals!

but it does have conquest (the first horseman) and depending on the interpretation (pestilence or plague) a death caused by chemicals can be read into the interpretation...

OMG, cigarettes are the white horse!

Why is any of the crap other than tobacco leaves in cigarettes?

I don't know but I presume as a preservative and possibly even a flavouring bizarre as that may sound. I expect most of it doesn't need to even be there, like most additives to any consumable product.

omfg... if that is true... I am never smoking filter cigarettes again.

And being a vegetarian, the pig blood would bother me more than the chemicals but I do still smoke occasionally so it's kind of logical for me that a vegetarian principle would override a chemical principle.
