Actually, I got back yesterday around 4pm. I will be doing day-by-day posts and putting up photos. I have seen more than enough Pied Cormorants to last a lifetime. Added 5 new birds to my lifelist (and gotten good looks at a few previous "half-ticks"). I am slightly sunburned and rather itchy. I have a dozen things to do before I have to return to work tomorrow (dammit).

Am I right in guessing that there is a way to map out (like draw a line where you went) routes and annotate them on Google Earth? If so, is there an easy lesson somewhere on how to do this?

Did you have a GPS with you?

Okay, I didn't know you didn't have one, I would have lent you mine for your trip if I had known. That does make it easier to trace it out.

Rob might be able to give you some pointers when he gets home this afternoon, I'm not familiar with the process myself.

I think I just need to learn how to make a file for Google Earth pointing out the sites where I went and possibly tracing along the routes taken if possible.

Good luck, I hope it turns out to be easy!

using google earth to trace plots is a relatively pain free process. There are other apps that leverage the googleearth API as well. The only others I have used are Nokia's exercise one, and bikely, for cycling.
All of which are much much easier if you have a gps track to upload :)
