A museum located near the Rose & Crown in Guildford. It was someone's museum.

It had all old stuff in it and a marionette puppet out the front.

Ring any bells?

ETA : I remember! It was Hall's Museum. Only get one hit on Google and that's a bunch of council minutes about whether they should let Rose & Crown build a brewery on the site. It says the museum was constructed around 1980. God knows when it closed.

Round the corner from the R&C, facing the park. Maybe an old police station? Yards and stables and a few cells. Nice pottery shop at one end.

I think I knew it as The Hall Collection. One of the item tags declared that a particular vase was "decorated with guilt". It had a hair-raising collection of old dentistry equipment.
