I just managed to have a shower...

Without the shower chair! I even managed to clean the bottom of my right foot.

I feel all accomplished. :)

My brother has had serious mobility issues for several months, and he ranks showers very highly in his list of favourite activities and achievements.

The presence of a non-slip mat helps a lot. I wouldn't dare attempt it without that, seeing as a slip on those ice-tiles is what caused this mess in the first place.

Problem is the mat doesn't have enough holes to let the water drain properly. In some ways it isn't a problem because it allows me to wash the soap of the bottom of my foot before I put weight on it again, thus reducing slippage.

Tonight my knee is feeling quite good/strong. Not as much of the "bowl of a jelly for a knee joint" sensation.

Oh he's got non-slip painted surfaces, a permanent chair, rails... but that's an improvement over being bed-bound. And I appreciate not having to wash his feet!

I've been meaning to ask about the original accident. So it was a slip in the bathroom? Nasty. Lucky you didn't get your head - or did you?
