gemfyreIt was a bit like a bad episode of A Country Practice this morning. Chris and I are happily putting around town, chasing a rufous songlark all around Gantheume Pt. First time I've seen the point at high tide - it's so different and you can easily see how Anastasia's Pool fills. Also got great views of frigatebirds there, finally!
Anyway, we were trying to squeak up some red-backed fairywrens when Ricki rings. Apparently we need to pick up a frozen bilby from the hospital and return it to the BBO ASAP. There goes our lovely day off.
So I've been back here just bumming around most of the afternoon. I'm trying to continue my PotO prelude fanfic thinger.
Apparently today we were going to
- Return to town and finish our touring. Didn't happen.
- See if Stairway to the moon would happen tonight and go into town in the evening and see that and eat dinner out. No bikkie.
- Go down to the viewing platform - deemed too hot to do that. Fair enough.
- Go on a mangrove walk. I doubt that's gonna happen now because it will be dark soon.
Chris has disappeared to the plains again with Ady to search for red-rumped swallows. I guess I'll just bum around the rest of the evening and try again next week.
