My toilet trained frog in the bathroom seems to be being named Dolly. I don't know why, but I've found myself calling it (her?) "Dolly Frog". I say toilet trained because a few days ago when she was sitting in the sink plughole I'm sure she shat. If only she'd do it there all the time. I've also discovered how the teeny frogs get into the cistern.

B.J. was a legend yesterday and got herself sunburnt. I stuck sunscreen on my face and arms and went "Ah my legs'll be okay." Of course they weren't. Now they are itchy/bumpy from walking through grass AND sunburnt. I also have these bumps on my ribs, probably another reaction of some kind - hopefully my skin adjusts to all this.

They say that despite the high incidence of skin cancer and such, the use of sunscreen still isn't prevalent enough. And I think I've figured out why - the stuff is so damned inconvenient!

First you have to buy some, and it can get expensive. It's slippery, smells funny, stings when it gets in your eyes, requires a complicated application procedure to "properly" apply it. Many swimsuits recommend not contacting sunscreen (or chlorine, or salt, or sand, or rocks, but that's another story). It's not surprise to me that so many people just "can't be bothered" applying it. I did the same yesterday, I figured my legs would be okay so I spared them the goobyness of sunscreen, but I got burnt.

Wader study group arrives tomorrow. That should be interesting. I also learn the nuances of driving the Troupie tomorrow, which means a bit of freedom on my off days if it's not in use. *grinz* My off days by the way are Sunday and Monday - yay my first weekend! Hopefully I can nick the troupie and explore the town a bit. I really need some seafood dammit! It's a tad frowned upon to fish in a Ramsar wetland, not that it stops some morons and I don't have any fishing gear anyways.

Spent the afternoon cleaning the shadehouse and exchaging recipe ideas with Chris. We actually have quite a bit of stuff there to work with. I found a slender blender and electric hand mixer as well as loads of baking trays - we MUST get that oven in shape!

Then helped prepare some mudlab samples. They're currently secreted under my bed. We also hid the good stools too so the study group can't get them. Discovered some noodles in a container in the shed of all places, claimed them. Also claimed a bunch of stuff from the fridge and cupboard that had been left behind by previous guests. Some good stuff there!

Then I made a bunch of beds, this whole place is going to fill and overflow apparently, it will be interesting certainly. The net wouldn't connect last night so I'll post this tonight as well as today's entries.

Today - Yellow Wagtails! Hehe, 2 on the golf course in town. I finally had a glimpse of water from Broome township today. Can't wait to go for a swim, I guess I should wait for Irukanji jellyfish season to end first.

Went to the plains this afternoon and flushed a few brown quail.

Other stuff happened, but I am now tired and wanting to retreat to my air-conditioned, termite-free-as-possible room and sleep.
