This time it's the steamer. Now I know how damn easy it is to use that thing I can see me eating a lot more veges!
Seeing as I thawed too much chicken yesterday I did the last bits up tonight like yesterdays.
And I did veges, they suggest 5 serves of veges a day. I had 6 veges tonight.
Carrot
Potato
Mushroom
Asparagus
Broccoli
Pak Choy
About the only thing that wasn't at its best steamed was the potato, but it was still better than boiled potato and I think a more suitable type of potato (I'm thinking waxy) might work better too. The rest was great.
And this morning I went birding, as I do. :) I got all rugged up expecting it to be cold, wet and windy on the North Mole. The sun was shining and there was barely a breeze!! I got hot because I'd put on a singlet and stockings under my jeans and stuff. Not an awful lot off the mole so we headed to Woodman's Point which was a lot more successful and just a lovely spot, I might have to go back there to seek the ruddy turnstone I heard about. Got two new birds too (see list below to find out what they were).
Australasian Gannet
Pelican
Darter
Pied Cormorant
Little Pied Cormorant
Little Black Cormorant
Black Swan (I didn't see these myself)
Australian Shelduck
Pacific Black Duck
Wood Duck (I didn't see these myself)
Rufous Night Heron
Ruddy Turnstone (not seen, apparently common in area however)
Pied Oystercatcher
Grey Plover - NEW! (Pluvialis squatarola)
Red Capped Plover
Great Skua - NEW! (Catharacta skua)
Silver Gull
Caspian Tern
Crested Tern
Lesser Noddy ("show & tell" dead specimen, died on beach)
Black Shouldered Kite
Whistling Kite
Senegal Dove
Rock Dove
Galah
Unidentified Fairy Wren (heard, not seen)
Western Gerygone
Inland Thornbill
Red Wattlebird
Singing Honeyeater
Brown Honeyeater
Willie Wagtail
Magpie Lark
Black-Faced Cuckoo Shrike
Grey Butcherbird
Australian Raven
Welcome Swallow
Silvereye
