1) you know nothing about but sounds intriguing
or
2) you know something about but would love to know what the hell I see in it/why it interests me. Comment and demand an explanation.

Date: 2004-03-16 06:19 am (UTC)I only have their first three albums. I'm not sure if Much Afraid or If I Left The Zoo is my fave.
My fave song is Worlds Apart. It just speaks so much about emotions I have had and that many people experience I'm sure.

Date: 2004-03-16 06:27 am (UTC)I have to recommend their CD "from the studio/from the stage" to you - because it's their absolute best songs in concert and acoustic. That is my absolute favorite CD set ever.
I'm supposed to be studying

Date: 2004-03-16 01:43 pm (UTC)Cryptozoology - The study of animals not yet recognised by science. If it wasn't for cryptozoology the okapi and lowland gorilla wouldn't have been discovered. Some popular cryptids include the Loch Ness Monster and Sasquatch. My favourite is Mkele Mobembe - a supposed sauropod dinosaur that lives in the Congo rainforest (ever see the old movie Baby? It was all about it.) I'd love to go to the Congo and find the REAL Mkele Mobembe, which I believe is an as yet unidentified species of rhinocerous. They've also recently discovered a few large mammals in parts of Vietnam that we never knew of before because Western scientists weren't allowed into the area. Try www.cryptozoology.com
Ethology is just a fancy word for the study of animal behaviour.

Date: 2004-03-16 01:47 pm (UTC)Circa - 1988 to 1991 about.
They were kinda grungy/glammy. The lyrics are bizarre but the music never fails to stick a big stupid grin on my face.
The lead singer was Andrew Wood. Unfortunately he died of a heroin overdose in 1990 (the anniversary is actually the 20th). :(
One of their guitarists was Stone Gossard and their bass player was Jeff Ament. After Andy's death they got together with Soundgarden's Chris Cornell (a good friend of Andy's) and roped in some guy called Eddie Vedder and recorded Temple Of The Dog. Of course half of TOTD became Pearl Jam and the other half was Soundgarden.

Date: 2004-03-16 01:48 pm (UTC)I've read ALL his books. Sure some of the earlier ones were crap but some of his later stuff has been great.
He's good for a quick, no think read.
