Ah!! I'm so proud.

These are the things that I've been fretting over the last week. But by some miracle that always seems to happen I have it all ready on time.

The crowning glory I think are the lane numbers. This was done up in Publisher, the numbers are just a word art frame with 2 spaces between each number. It fit perfectly!

We should go geeking (eg. Birdwatching) in the banksia woodland on campus sometime. So many pretty birdies to see down there (including fairy wrens!)

Well all we had to do was prepare the samples, stick the DNA and enzymes in the right tubes and mix 'em up. The actual gel thingo was done by the demonstrators this time, I imagine in the future we'll be doing it tho.

We did get a practice shot at loading a gel. Lucky it was a practice one, in the real thing the water is full of ethidium bromide = carcinogen. Which would have been bad because I accidently had my lab coat sleeve dangling in the water!! But I guess that's why you wear them!

E. coli is your friend!!!

We play with it and it's bits all the time. Just don't put it in your mouth, that'd be all bad.

ooooh! Very nice gels, they turned out very clear! I still have mine somewhere from genetics class, I was so proud of it I hung it on my mini-fridge for the whole year ^_^

Gotta love those carcinogens... wonderful things they are. But did you know that if you *do* get it on your fingers they will glow in blacklights for a while? It sounds very fun, you know, until they really did some harm :/

Oh my! Are you in the same uni/class as my housemate Rachel? She showed me similar frames of DNS samples a few weeks ago! Maybe you guys have been in the same lab.
