Bumps in the night

gemfyreOn windy nights there is this constant knocking sound - that's the front door, which is a bit too small for it's frame, will have to jam some newspaper around it to shut it up.
But occasionally there is a much louder, solid, THUMP that vibrates the windows. I have NO idea what that is, but it's kind of alarming.
