And so, she returns

Well, I am home!

Got on the plane and I had an aisle seat... then a couple with a young child sat next to me. Uh oh - there were a lot of kids on this flight. The kid next to me however was a little cutie who was very excited by being on a plane - a bit like me. After takeoff however they moved back to a free row and I had 3 seats to myself. :)

OMG, it's so clean and shiny here! And COLD! It was so damn cold that my leg cramped up multiple times during the night.

I didn't sleep well, I was too excited. At around 4am I started to hear bird calls. By 4:30 I was up and outside. Brown Honeyeater (how did I know I'd get that first?), Silvereye, White-cheeked Honeyeater, great views of a Striated Pardalote! Lovely. It's weird how I've forgotten a lot of the calls though. Must get my new bins and start birding in earnest. Will take a wander down to the creek in a bit, hoping Matt gets up soon so he can come.

Phantom has forgiven me. She's acting just like she was before I left. :)

The Marri trees have been hacked! Mum did let me know they did that but gack! No Red-capped Parrots in the backyard now! :(

A bottle of shampoo leaked in one of my packing crate. }:-\ Lucky the lid of the soap bucket bore most of it but my camera got shampooed too - hope it's still okay. They also successfully smashed ALL of the lids of my new containers. Grrr. I specifically bought them so I could re-use them and now they're ruined. I don't think you can just buy lids.

I had a bath this morning. Mmm bath. Mmm couch. Mmm mod cons.
