OMG it looks like bread!!
Jun. 28th, 2004 04:59 pmBeer bread to be exact. I think I put a little too much beer in (rectified by the addition of a little more flour) and the dough seemed too gluggy. But much to my delight when I peeked at the oven about 20 minutes into cooking it had risen!! And the whole kitchen smelled of beer.
I made the ceremonial cutting and chowed down on the first (and second slice). Not bad. The actual loaf is pretty low anyway but still fine. It could possibly be a little lighter but I know next time to add the beer more slowly so I don't put too much in. It's still pretty darn good. *looks proud*
I now have a batch of brownies in the oven. I love that moment after you add the eggs. Before that the mix is lumpy and looks like you've done something wrong. Then you add the eggs and whisk like hell and all of a sudden it becomes this awesome smooth, coherent, fudgy mixture. Very very cool. :)
I will post photos of these delectables when my computer gets back up. I've baked the brownies, now all I need is for the computer to be fixed. I will squee loudly when I'm back up and running, but it seems it may take a little more effort than I'd hoped (like formatting my harddrive and dealing with having less RAM for the now). *sigh* But just my own computer that I can do stuff on will be great.
