Productivity... kinda
May. 13th, 2004 02:59 pm1 week, still nothing. Hey, maybe the pressure is what I need. God, I hope I pass this unit, it will look REALLY bad if I am just doing one unit and I don't pass due to just being a slack arse. *slaps self*
On the other hand - I have been having fun, relaxing and done other productive stuff.
Today we went to K-mart and bought that Arcosteel set because it was $50 off. We nabbed the display set because it was the only box with a bonus 3 piece pasta cooker set. Got it home - the steamer is missing and one of the lids is broken. Now, I was fully expecting a display set to opened, but I didn't pay full price for missing and broken pieces - so I shall be traipsing back to K-mart sometime today.
Last night Matt came up to keep me company - we enjoyed a spa then went out to dinner at the Black Swan cafe and winery in Henley Brook. A little more expensive restaurant - I almost got the bugs, which were $29 but we both settled on $25 dishes.
Matt got...

On potato mash with fresh thyme, shallots, drizzled with rum and bitter chocolate sauce topped with prosciutto. Matt says it was good - the venison was cooked magnificently - but it wasn't THAT special. See his journal (or replies to this entry) for more critique from him.
I got...

This is twice in a row I've had duck! This involved crispy skinned duck on a cinnamon and date risotto topped with apple strudel (which had figs in it too) and drizzled with orange jus. MAN! It was good. Very sweet and tart and crunchy skinned and just plain yummy. Fruit and duck go very well together.
Yesterday afternoon we went to King's Park and got the first step photo for Wolfie's Photo Hunt. I'll make you look for it at the site because it's a truly awful photo of me.
And I've churned out two memory wire rings and a bunch of earrings, as well as repaired Matt's necklace and my own.

I'm not sure if these are finished yet. I need to devise a way to keep the top of the earrings at the top (at the moment they are loose and just turn around and look funny). I also may add another smaller loop.

I made these last night and fell in love. I think I'll keep these babies. Cloisonne medallions, crystals and cats eyes. *drool*

Just a cute little pair I made featuring the glass ladybug beads. I would have liked them to be longer.

Simple and easy to make. Just dangly cloisonne crosses. Anymore would be too busy, and the crosses are heavy to boot.

Dangly faux pearls.

The first ring. Green and gold - just in time for the Olympics.

The other ring.
