In Jakarta my phone was pick pocketed on the escalator, except the lady behind me noticed this and quickly gave me a description of the dude. I spotted him, and as he ran off, chased after him. I grabbed him and started yelling that he was a thief. I got my phone back. It was awesome.

That is awesome. I've had money nicked from me multiple times, strangely though, I always got the wallet back, just sans the money.

I had my backpack full of CDs and a discman and various other stuff stolen from my tent at a caravan park in Port Macquarie. The cops even knew who did it but didn't do anything about it, some shit of a teenager known for such behaviour. Kinda spoiled the holiday. The only consolation was that there was a thermometer in the pencil case in that bag - and I hope she stuck it in her mouth - that thermometer had been up various horses and dogs arses. Sure, it had been sterilised, but it's still a nice thought.

My sister stole money from me frequently, usually about $100+ at a time, if she could get to it. It changed the way I lived, I had a lock on my door from the age of 14.

And I've had wallets and handbags stolen.

all of the things I've had stolen have been stolen from me at work, out of my locker. One while I was PEEING in the stall and left my locker open, figuring the one other person in the bathroom with me wasn't a theif, or wouldn't have the audacity to do it while I was in the room....I was wrong. She got a $25 olive garden giftcard (that i got from my mother for my bridal shower) and $30.

I had a reasonably newish laptop stolen from a sharehouse i was living in because the shit i was living with left a window open and it was the most easily portable expensive thing in the house.. the person even took the charger.

atleast that is better than a friend coming over and taking your jewellery. I watched her playing with a chain of mine and after she left I looked where it was meant to be and it wasn't there. I searched for ages to find if she had put stuff somewhere else and never found the main thing I was looking for which was bad because the charm on the chain was a gift that I got for my 17th birthday.

I hate not being able to trust my friends.

It is like when I loan people stuff like my gameboy and get lame arse excuses from the person why she 'forgot' this time to give it back.

I guess some people aren't worth it

I had money stolen from me many times. Usually from my brother or his friends.

I once had my halloween candy stolen from me on my way home from trick or treating. My brother and I were right across the street from our house and were just about to cross the street when these 2 kids came up and tried to take our bags of candy. My brother, nearly 2 years younger than me, handed his right over. I put up a fight though, so the kid socked me in the face. He won. lol

I had my bag stolen in KFC. We were sat down and two men came and sat next to us. I noticed them and drew my bag closer to me... then I forgot and then were gone with my bag!

I ran out and confronted them and got my bag back..:)

We saw the video of them doing it, it was quite scarey!

Some stoned woman stole my bag when Drhoz and I were having our anniversary dinner in Freo last year. We got it back, even though she denied it, when she tried to loot it and all my small change fell out between her legs.

Then there was the shits that broke into my office and took the laptop - that's the violent one, if you saw what was left of the door. Just glad I wasn't there.

I've had my bag stolen from a party once (with purse, discman and most of my CD collection in there). I've also had my house broken into once when I was living in a fairly dodgy area of Sydney.

In addition to that, one of my ex boyfriends used to steal money from my purse when I was asleep. I didn't want to believe it was him for a long time (he denied it) until I had concrete evidence that it couldn't have been anyone else at which point he caved. :(

I do have very bad memory, but right now I can't remember having anything stolen from me ever. Sweet!
