Writer's Block: Health Care

[Error: unknown template qotd]

From an evolutionary perpesctive, I don't think sophistocated health care should exist at all. But then again, it IS part of our evolution I guess. And if it weren't for hi-tech health care a lot of people I love (and possibly myself even) would be a lot more miserable or dead.

That said. If you need health care, you shouldn't be denied it based on your financial status. That's crap, but sadly the way things work, because in this society stuff costs money, and don't get me started on my opinions on money.

There is one exception. If you've done something deliberately stupid and haven't taken safety precautions - then you shouldn't expect health care - sure you'll get it if you have the money, but you certainly should be at the end of the queue.

I disagree - our capability to fight illness and injury indirectly is a product of our evolved brains - and our empathy certainly is. Health Care imho, should be universal everywhere
