Computer suckage

Once I have an income again I am getting a new PC asap. The one I have has a FULL hard drive, and the fans make a hideous noise whenever I turn the thing on.

And the laptop needs a makeover too. The power cable has a loose connection somewhere so it randomly drops to battery power - which sucks if I don't notice because the battery is also crapped and will only last 20 minutes/half an hour before the whole thing shuts down. Sometimes I have to tinker with the cord for quite a while before it stays connected to the power and recharges the battery.

*sigh*

my laptop does that too! in fact it's got so bad it just doesn't work anymore. blah.

my brother has a friend who can fix it for me, apparently the part is like $5 or something.

i want a new laptop though, and when i get one i'm never getting one again that has the power cord on the back corner of it. it's gotta be on the side. i think mine broke because i sit with the laptop on my knees, when it's on the knee, it jiggles the power cord. so yeah.

Hmm, if it's the connection at the motherboard breaking, you will soon not be able to get plug-in power at all. It can be re-saudered, but that won't always work. You may want to call repair places and see what they will charge to diagnose the problem.

If your desktop is a WinXP machine, I can help you clean it up a bit. I'd want to help you via IM or email so I can send you screenshots, since this cleanup involves deleting update uninstall files that Windows keeps long after they're no longer needed.

That could be very handy.

You can always PM me via LJ. I do have MSN, is the ID your e-mail for that? I can never remember. I also use ICQ - 4016419.
