I just became a preteen again.

Ah yes, back when boy bands were good and you didn't need to worry about security at live shows. And the bit where he gets the girl on stage is unbelievably cute.

OMG...hahaha, I used to be so into them.

Did you know that Jonathan suffers from severe anxiety attacks - getting up in front of crowds in any situation pretty much paralyzes him. I heard him once say that being in the band was a really rough time for him, and he's glad he's no longer performing. I'm amazed he was in the group for as long as he was - his managers probably had him on all sorts of anti-anxiety pills though. :/

Aww poor Jon. He always seemed to be the quietest one and Jordan would take the limelight. I always preferred Jon over Jordan though.

yeah my best friend was into Jon, me and her twin were into Donnie.

I always felt sorry for the Danny fans for their severe lack of taste

Jordan... he was the gay one from memory... and one of the wo that tried to have a career in music after NKOTB

NKOTB weren't that bad... I mean eventually they vanished...

I went to their concert too... I was in block f, row n seat 7 at the ent cent, perth

ok... here is some NKOTB history

1984 NKOTB form
1986 NKOTB release self titled debut album
1989 they have a break through in the US and around the world with "i'll be loving you forever" and "you got it (the right stuff)"
1990 they release the step by step album, their 4th (after the self titled album, Hangin touch and merry merry Christmas, the christmas album) and continue to dominate the teengirls of the world
1992 they finally come to Australia... prooving their popularity is seriously declining. The two albums they have released since step by step are little more than best of's (no more games (the remix album) and the tour CD with one new song, If you go away... dubbed a plea to their fans).
1994 they release face the music... their last album by now they are officially known as NKOTB (rather than new kids on the block) but no-one cares
1995 Joe McIntyre Films the Fantasticks, which was not released until it was re-editted in 2000
1999 both Joe and Jordan release comeback albums

OK I didn't do all this from memory... it would be scary if I did

OMG, now I feel old.

How old is Joey there, 12? He looks about 12, anyway. I was into Jordan. Funny how Donny's brother is ten times as well known as him now, hee.

I think he was 14 by then.

I feel like a paedophile, now.

Not that I find them attractive now, but I did in the 80s. Even though I was a preteen then. I am so confused!

[identity profile] jakie-em.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 11:30 am (UTC)(link)
he was 15 turning 16

[identity profile] jakie-em.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 11:29 am (UTC)(link)

awwwwwww I went to see them in '92 I think...lousy show, but they had a girl on stage like this. Poor girl was man-handled by the jealous crowd afterward, 'though :(

[identity profile] gemfyre.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I really wanted to go see them, but my mum wouldn't let me because I was apparently too young. I cried, it was so unfair.

And you look at Mark Wahlberg being an authority figure in movies like Annapolis, those two looked so similar and I wonder how he ever lived it down......

I was just looking at Jordan's new stuff LOL.
