Next question

For those of you living alone, renting and working full time.

How much rent do you pay, and what kind of accomodation do you have for that price?

Well, you've seen our place (I think?) Anyway, it is old, should probably be condemned and has 3 bedrooms and a ridiculously huge backyard for $140 a week (for Perth, this is ridiculously cheap, which is why we haven't moved despite it being a dump). I pay half that and don't even notice (now that I am working).

I lived there on my own for 6 months when Luke moved out for a bit. Was paying $130 a week then, and just barely managing it with full youth allowance and rent assistance. Look about on the net; I'm sure there's a handy dandy thing somewhere to tell you what percentage of your paycheck should be your rent limit.

Also, I'll ask Luke when I get home what his Mum used to charge for rent when she owned a place there. He reckons it was the nicest house in the town, too. Pity she sold it; you might have been able to rent it, heh.

just reread that, and it might have been unclear... could barely manage it with no job and only centrelink payments. Nowadays I would probably be pretty ok.
