So many funky clothes

And 99% of them aren't in my size or look horrible once they're on. :(

Those awesome skirts that are in this Summer? Make my hips look huge.
I found an awesome accessory/scarf thinger. Again, just accentuated the hips. Apparently it could also be worn as a top - yeah maybe if you're an A cup.

Bleh.

Oh, I so hear you, sister.

My parents bought me a Myer voucher for my 30th. I ended up coming home with a toaster and an electric frypan. It was so bloody depressing.

I think the highlight was trying on a size 18 dress that squidged my tits into looking like a pair of flat footballs... joy. And it looked like I was wearing a big tee pee everywhere else.

*slaps norks*

Clothes suck, BJ.

remember that torrid site I was talking about the other day?

Good clothes.

I will take a look.

The problem is I seem to be in this area where I'm not big enough for the "big" sizes but the stuff in my size is designed for people that aren't my shape.

Gah.

I find they're cut very generously in the boob area.

Their clearance section is also half price for the next couple of days, so give me a yell if you decide to get anything, coz I'm toying with the idea and we could share shipping costs.

they also start around a size 14 aussie.

How generous is generous? Is it stretchy fabric?

well I'm wearing one of their tops now and I'm a DD and could fit a few more cups sizes in before it got tight... they have a size chart on the site, so I guess you could always take your measurements and take it from then...

My biggest problem is actually my hips.

I can find plenty of decent tops (even if it's not all the ones I want).

Skirts and pants however are a pain in the rear. I have a size 12 waist and size 16 hips.

well again, measure yourself and compare to the size chart.

course there is always the a) get a belt and b)alter the waistline options.

[identity profile] pooxs.livejournal.com 2005-11-10 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
oooh I have that exact same problem, though not to your extent - pants are REALLY tight around my thighs/hips, but then when i do them up theyre all baggy around the waist. SO ANNOYING.

what I hate more is know size x of brand y fits you, so you try on size x of brand y in stile z and it doesnt fit ARGH! how can they change the SIZE in the same brand?!

[identity profile] pooxs.livejournal.com 2005-11-10 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
oh I feel your pain! all the pretty stuff I like my boobs/hips are too big for.

(most) size 14s are too small and size 16s are like a tent :(

bah. bah. and bah. clothes shopping is a nightmare.

we should be given medals just for trying. its like running a marathon only to find they only give water to the skinny girls.

sorry. that sounded really horrible. but i know what you mean.

hey, when I was looking for work I stopped applying to most clothes shops, because who's going to hire someone who can't even fit into the merchandise?

[identity profile] meljane.livejournal.com 2005-11-10 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I hate that I'm one size under my stomach and a bigger size above my stomach and having the thing of a size saying like a 14 and its more like a 12 or a 16 and its floating on my and the 14 being too small .

I also have the disadvantage of because my stomach gets bloated most of the time it makes it really hard to buy clothes , sometimes a size 14 will fit me other time a 16 and other times a 16 will be too tight on me .

Anyway that's enough of my ranting

we should bring back the somewhat lost art of making our own clothes.

you should try ezibuy.com.au I'm a size 16-18 and they're clothes are really generous, really stylish and really cheap, like target cheap. Plus the catalogues are free. My mums a 14-16 and she fits easily into their 12-14 range. Their bra's are really generous and sexy too.
