Yarrghh!!

*rants and raves about the dishesphobia her housemates seem to suffer*

We've been out of bowls for a few days now.  I think they both just think "Oh B.J. will get sick of it soon and do them."  Yeah and get pissed off in the meantime, and then THEY'LL get pissed at me for some reason because I'm pissed at them.

Oh and of course there will be "But I/we did them last time."  (last time being FIVE DAYS ago) and my reply is "Yes, but I did them the SIX times before that!"

Grrr
I guess I'll be doing the washing after breakfast because I like to eat off plates because as usual our floor is filthy.  After doing a good vacuum half the garden managed to get traipsed through the house.  *sigh*

I honestly don't mind doing dishes. There's a certain satisfaction to be had by making things all nice and clean. It's just the principle of the matter. And it's a pain in the arse trying to fit 4 days worth of dishes on the dishrack.

I'll just bang my head on this brick wall now.

Just do what I do. Wash what you need when you need it and leave the rest for someone else to do. Either they'll get sick of it and wash them, or they'll just do what you do and you'll have to give in and do them yourself.

Problem is that's an awful waste of water. And the dishes take up space I need to make food.

especially since our water just tripled in cost!
although since it isn't based on usage it doesn't matter that much, the reasoning behind the increase is that the usage has been much higher than what we've all been paying for.

and I'd have done the dishes, or helped with them, but was leaving for uni when you said they had to be done. and i wasn't home yesterday.

I have had similar problems in the past and it's not just having no clean dishes, it's also the mess of the pile of dirty dishes.

One of my old roommates left them so long we got cockroaches and mice crawling through, which is not the kind of thing you want in the kitchen!

Yeah, I had all those problems when I had housemates. One of the problems is that usually everyone feels like they are doing more work than everyone else, and often the truth of the matter is that lots of people in one house make lots of mess, and requires more day to day work than people realise.

I was guilty of being slack too. It is much easier keeping the house relatively clean with just me and Karlski. :)

make a chore wheel with all the stuff that needs to be done around the place and rotate who needs to do what each week. then no one has the excuse of not knowing what needs to be done coz theres a list there and they can bloody well find time at some point in the week to do it ;)

three of you shouldnt be able to generate that much mess. but then again...*glances around at the mess her n Josh usually have consisting mostly of loose paper piled on desk and all of Josh's uni books*.. :)
