What the fuck is antagonistic pleiotropy?
I was asked what it was in Tuesday's exam and was like "guuuhhh, when did we learn this?" I made something up.
Looked it up when I got home. My bullshit answer was wrong. It's pretty much a fancy term for trade-offs. Now if they'd asked about trade-offs I could have easily written a paragraph but they used some fancy term I'd never heard of before. So I DO know about what they were asking, I just didn't recognise the term. This is why I dislike exams as indicators of your knowledge.
The genetics exam looks like it's gonna be a doozy. There is sooooo much to remember and you can't even bring in a sheet of formulas or anything which sucks big time. I can't keep all this info AND formulas in my head. Hopefully I will get over the neccessary 40% however.
In other news we bought a tent, just over $100 from Big W and WOW!! We put it up yesterday as a practice run and it's AWESOME!! It has two rooms and can be mixed and matched to have awnings on either the front or back and you can roll up side walls for airflow. It's very neat, and it all stores in a nifty carry bag.
Can't wait for this trip, Centerink better bloody get my payments in order before I go. *growls at Centerstink*

I was shocked at how easy it was to put up!! I'm used to an old igloo tent where the poles aren't all strung together so they always fall apart within the tent and you hafta thread them through a sleeve in the tent.
This thing is spring loaded poles and you just hook them onto the outside!! Tehn you just drag the fly sheet/awning over it and stick two poles through that and peg/guy wire it all down. The instruction sheet was not helpful at all but we got it all together pretty easily anyway. I was VERY impressed.
