Watched the end of Idol, because all the crap stuffing in the show is just boring, I wanted to cut to the chase.

I reckon Cosima probably won votes wise because Shannon is strictly mediocre. Hopefully she gets some voice training eh?

And yep, Guy will win, he's unique and has a good voice and can perform.

Bagging idol is a pretty sweeping statement.

I dont agree so much with the concept (although it is a journey of a lifetime, for many people) or the demographic that its targeted towards....but you cant deny some of the sheer, raw talent thats been on display. Even the top 40 people were better singers than most could ever hope to be. When a man gets up and is moved to tears by a song, that he sung, that moment is special. That man has talent.

It's not the talent I can't stand, it's the exploitation of that talent. First it was popstars (and look at how well the bands did from that... Bardot is broken up, and noone knows or cares what happened to the second group), and now it's this.

Perhaps the years of 'reality' tv has left my overly cynical, but I can't stand these sorts of shows any more. I'd prefer a well written drama (preferrably one not involving laywers, doctors or police) over reality tv any day.

I'm not altogether sure I'm making my point properly, but I just woke up (and will probably be going back to sleep for a bit) so I can't be bothered proof reading :-)

I get your point, and agree with it.
However I think guy's life will be greatly enriched from this experience. Even if he's not on the A list for long, he'll always be able to sell a house because of this.

Then again, it doesn't take much for anyone to notice that as far as TV goes, I'm far out of it ^^; The only reason I even know what A. Idol is is because Little John was on it ^^;

At the moment, no reality TV appeals to me. I think it might be possible to do something good with it, but I haven't seen anything that has impressed me so far. Then again ,seeing I don't wath TV... :P

I have seen Temptation Island though, once. It made me want to cull humanity >.>

Heh, I was about to say the second group's name was Hear'Say but that was the British one. The other Aussie lot was Scandalous, although I think the word lacked a few letters and gained a few commas.

Temptation Island - just the ad makes me want to puke.

Some Survivor isn't too bad. Like the latest one, makes me wonder how I'd cope on a desert island. It would be great to able to do that for a while, just get right back to the basics and find yourself. And I love that feral youth counsellor guy (he's feral, not the youth), he's very cool and knows his shit.

Fair enough. There were a few nice compilation vids of the contestants, but apart from that...blergh.

I do believe shannon appeals to the young aussie girls more than cosima does, and lets face it, they will compose the majority of voters.

Guy should win. he's got an amazing voice, and amazing diversity!. He can sing rnb, soul, pop, ballads, and christ did he belt out that soulful "follow your dreams" song. Sounded like a true man in that song, instead of a funky pop boy.

Shannon's good at what a lot of aussie blokes are. Belting out pub songs, and lookin good in a suit. ;) .
