Satch V Coldplay
So, the news of the day is that Joe Satriani is suing Coldplay for all they're worth for ripping off a tune of his and turning it into Viva La Vida - a massively successful hit.
I believe it was Jimi Hendrix who once said that every riff had already been written - and that was back in the 60s. Led Zeppelin's first two albums were largely uncredited old blues tunes.
Hearing the two side by side (and laid over each other) - indeed, there are striking similarities.
But also, after hearing the overlay, I think Satch should forget about suing and insist he tour with Coldplay and play his guitar tune along with Viva La Vida because together they sound AWESOME.
